He Must Become Greater

By Abraham Wright

During my rookie year in the National Football League, I was required to sign lots of autographs as a member of the Miami Dolphins. At first it was exciting, then it quickly became laborious, and I found myself just scratching my initials like everyone else.

I wanted to represent God even in this small task, so I began to write John 3:30 underneath every Scripture beside my jersey number. This is where John the Baptist said He, meaning Jesus, must become greater, and I must become less. It was my prayer that the person receiving the autograph would, at some time, read the Scripture.

Jesus is the only one who is famous and great. He must become great. I must become less.

I want to encourage you to find both small and large ways to point people to God’s glory. He must become greater!
