9a Worship Service

Our worship service is located in the Worship Center. It is a joy-filled experience with hymns of the faith as the main staple of this worship. You will find familiar and new songs incorporated with organ, piano and the CRBC orchestra as the accompaniment. Whether you help lead or come as a ready participant, we think the praise of Jesus will be felt each time you come.

This Sunday, October 20, we have the opportunity to host Safe Families Oklahoma at Council Road. Safe Families is one of our many ministry partners we support on a yearly basis through our missions ingathering. If you have never heard of Safe Families, it’s an organization that provides support to families where the parents are experiencing a short-term emergency or crisis. Safe Families volunteers open their homes to the children of these families to give parents relief from some of their parenting responsibilities while they work through problems or achieve a short-term goal. The main goal of Safe Families is to prevent children from having to go into the foster care system as a result of the crisis their family is facing.

Safe Families is growing rapidly in the state of Oklahoma, and the need for volunteers is great. Over the past few years, my family has served as a host family, hosting children for as few as three days and as long as five months. Volunteering with Safe Families is yet another way we can walk in obedience to God’s call on our lives to care for the orphans around us. We ALL have a role to play. The call God has placed on our lives is not specific to a small number of people in our church. We all have to walk in obedience in this area, an area we have championed so well as a church over the years.

My encouragement to all of you is to prepare yourselves to hear more about Safe Families on Sunday. Perhaps God is calling you to serve with this organization in a big capacity. Approach this with an open mind, an open heart and open hands. Be ready to say yes to the hard things God calls us to do. And make no mistake about it; God has called us all.

This Sunday's Scripture:  Galatians 5:16-25

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
